Most of what people ask before getting a quote. Don't see yourquestion? Call us — we love talking shop.

How long does ceramic coating actually last?
+

Anywhere from 2 to 10+ years depending on the package and how the vehicle ismaintained. Our Bronze tier carries a 2-year warranty, Silver runs 5 years, and Goldis a lifetime coating. Maintenance — proper wash technique and avoiding harshchemicals — is the biggest factor in lifespan.

Do I need paint correction before a coating?
+

If your paint has any swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, or oxidation — yes. Ceramic coating chemically bonds to whatever's underneath it, so any defects in the paint get locked in permanently. That's why every one of our coating packages includes prep work: our Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers come with a 1-stage polish (paint enhancement), and our OMG package includes a full 3-stage paint correction with glass and door cup polishing. When you book, we assess your paint first and recommend the right level of correction so the coating goes over a perfect surface.

How long does the process take?
+

It depends on the package and your vehicle's condition. Silver and Gold packages are typically 1–2 days in the studio. Platinum runs 2–3 days. OMG, with full 3-stage paint correction and double-layer ceramic, takes 4–5 days. We schedule by appointment so every vehicle gets the time it actually needs — no rushing, no overlapping jobs. Your car stays in our climate-controlled bay the entire time, including the 24-hour cure after the final coating layer.

Is ceramic coating better than waxing?
+

Yes, and it's not close. Wax typically lasts 6–12 weeks before it needs to be reapplied — and it provides minimal scratch resistance or chemical protection. Ceramic coating chemically bonds to your clear coat and lasts anywhere from 3 years (Silver) to a lifetime (Platinum and OMG). It's hydrophobic, blocks UV rays, resists bird droppings, tree sap and bug splatter, and dramatically reduces wash-induced swirl marks. We actually started doing ceramic coating because we got tired of waxing our own cars every few months. Once you go ceramic, you don't go back.

Can you coat a brand new car?
+

Absolutely — and we recommend it. Brand new paint is the ideal canvas for ceramic. That said, we'll still do a full hand wash, clay bar decontamination and a light polish first, because even dealership-fresh paint usually has light swirl marks from the lot wash. Coating a new vehicle is also the smartest time for resale value: every coating we apply is documented on your CarFax report, with a transferable manufacturer warranty that follows the vehicle if you sell it.

Where are you located?
+

We're at 2714 Hwy 97 N #105, Kelowna, BC V1X 4J7— just off Hwy 97 with easy access and free parking. The studio is a secure indoor bay with controlled humidity and temperature, which is what ceramic coatings need to cure properly. We're by appointment only, so call or text us at (778) 562-5004 to book a time. For directions, you can find us on Google Maps under "Drew's Autosports."
